As I took this image I was drawn to the set of snow-shoe hare tracks in the foreground. These are perfectly lit by the moon, and bring together the concepts of the boreal forest of interior Alaska. The big dipper hangs in the background.
I am a wildlife photographer and writer located in Fairbanks, Alaska. I grew up in rural Minnesota, completed my undergrad on the shores of Lake Superior, and moved to Maine for several years. I am currently seeking a graduate degree in Wildlife Biology from the University of Alaska, Fairbanks in association with the Resilience and Adaptation Program, and have with a planned graduation date of December 2015.
