As I walked through the thigh deep snow at -40F I was amazed by the Northern Lights that filled the sky. I turned around on this hillside to take this shot through snow covered trees.

I am a wildlife photographer and writer located in Fairbanks, Alaska. I grew up in rural Minnesota, completed my undergrad on the shores of Lake Superior, and moved to Maine for several years. I am currently seeking a graduate degree in Wildlife Biology from the University of Alaska, Fairbanks in association with the Resilience and Adaptation Program, and have with a planned graduation date of December 2015. When not writing thesis or doing research, I spend a majority of my time in the field observing and photographing all types of natural phenomenon from bird breeding to the aurora borealis.
