This image of the Northern Lights was taken in the interior of Alaska, and is simply one of my favorite to date. -40F conditions were cold, but absolutely worth the effort!

I am a wildlife photographer and writer located in Fairbanks, Alaska. I grew up in rural Minnesota, completed my undergrad on the shores of Lake Superior, and moved to Maine for several years. I am currently seeking a graduate degree in Wildlife Biology from the University of Alaska, Fairbanks in association with the Resilience and Adaptation Program, and have with a planned graduation date of December 2015. When not writing thesis or doing research, I spend a majority of my time in the field observing and photographing all types of natural phenomenon from bird breeding to the aurora borealis.
